Save Century II

If you didn’t know, there is a long standing debate of where or not to rebuild or renovate Century II.

Save Century II is an organization that wants to…well… save Century II.

They were trying to push for a legally binding vote before the city could tear down historic buildings, but that has been rejected by the Kansas Court of Appeals.

The reason boiled down to the argument failing to “appreciate the specialized knowledge required to make decisions about the fate of city-owned buildings”.

Mayor Whipple has stated that despite the ruling, the City Council will still hold a vote prior to going full rampage on the building.

Wichita Art Museum

In a step to make Wichita even better, the Wichita Art Museum will no longer charge admission for the permanent collections. Previous fees included $10 for adults, $5 for seniors (55+), and $3 for students.

Major, temporary exhibits will still have a charge.

Broadway Wichita is off to a hot start to an even hotter season.
