TOGETHER WITH
Good morning Wichita!
Happy Mother's Day to all of our readers that are moms!
And Happy Mother's Day to the mothers in my life - to Candace, Kristi, Sharon, and Elizabeth! (and Nan and Camille!)
In today's Wichita Life Update:
Let's get to it!
- Landon Huslig
Ready Player One
“There is nothing to do in Wichita.”
I will always push back when people say this. There is plenty to do in Wichita and one of the more unique experiences you can have just moved to a new location.
The Arcade officially opens over at 906 E 3rd St. tomorrow (Saturday), May 13th at 1pm.
There will not be a full bar for food and drinks, more games, and a patio. This is a good time for the family or just you and the friends.
TOGETHER WITH CBD PLUS
CBD has multiple uses from calming anxiety to pain relief to sleep aid.
It seems like there is a new store popping up on every corner.
CBD Plus USA is your home for lab tested cannabis products and all things hemp in Wichita. I repeat. They have everything test.
They are the Apple Store of CBD shops.

BUSINESS
Opening

Wichita Furniture
The brand new Wichita Furniture celebrated their Grand Opening last night at the new superstore at 4200 W Kellogg Dr.
The store looks incredible. Thanks for having us out!
mamaFilm
Congrats to mamaFilm who just crossed their 4 year anniversary! Come celebrate tonight with Purple Rain at the Wichita Art Museum at 6:30pm.
No More Pop-tarts
Pop-tarts hold a special place in my heart. For a period of time, they stopped selling Wild Berry pop-tarts in stores, so my mom (s/o Kristi) bought me a giant box off Amazon.
HomeGrown has been selling their delicious homemade pop-tarts since they started. Well apparently Kellogg is jealous that HomeGrown makes better patries because they sent a cease and desist to HomeGrown to no longer use the ‘Pop-Tart’ moniker (although any other brunch place in the nation still uses the name).
The main takeaway here - you can still get the delicious POP-TARTs at HomeGrown under the name “delicious handmade breakfast pastries”.
New Strip Mall
If you’ve been to the new HTeaO over at 21st and 127th Street, then you know exactly where a new strip mall to be called Hawthorne Retail Center is going in.
STARTUP
Stop, ELEVATE and Listen
The Wichita Foundation helps change Wichita for the better.
The next step on that mission was to create a community lab called Elevate which is designed to promote collaboration for nonprofits, community groups, and businesses.
Stay tuned for more details.
The Thread - Cohort Six
If you’re a woman in Wichita and interested in stepping your game up, you need to seriously consider joining Cohort Six of The Thread (A Women’s Leadership Collective).
For 1. Audra and her team are crushing it and 2. you should see the alumni network they’ve built out in such a short time.
